Register your organization to receive payments

Why do I have to register?

Online Payment Platform (OPP) provides payment services for platforms. The platform that referred you to us has integrated our payment service. We take care of collecting the payment from the buyer and the payment to you as the recipient of the funds. You must register your organization with us if you want to receive payments via this platform.

OPP is supervised by De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and is licensed to offer this payment service. By law we have an obligation to register and verify users that create an account with us. We are not allowed to process any pay-out to a user before a successful verification.

What information does OPP need for this registration?

To register your organization as a business user we would like to receive the following information:

• First and last name
Company registration number of the company acting as recipient of the funds
IBAN of the organization's business account
• Proof of ID or online identification of the legal representative of the organization
A UBO declaration (read more about UBO) of the organization

Additional information on request:
Organization chart displaying the percentage of the company’s shares
   - An example of the organization chart according to our specifications can be found here
Extract of your registration with the Chamber of Commerce or other local authority

How long does it take for my data to be verified?

After you have sent us all the necessary information we aim to complete the registration within three working days. Transactions can already be initiated during this period. However the pay-out of these transactions can only take place after verification of your registration.

If any data is missing, we will contact you by e-mail via the sender no-reply@onlinepaymentplatform.com and request the additional information that are required to complete the process. We therefore ask you to check your email inbox regularly during the course of registration. To reply to the message sent to you, please select the “View details” button.

Data protection

Verification of your company and personal data is part of the registration process.

We only collect company and personal data to comply with our legal obligations and to offer you our payment services. This information will only be shared with third parties if this required by law or part of the payment service.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does a platform or marketplace need a payment service provider?

Distribution of funds is not a core activity for a marketplace and regulators consider this a financial service. A marketplace would have to apply for a license to become a payment service provider. If the marketplace or platform does not want to apply for a license it has to make use of a payment service provider.

Why did OPP disapprove your registration?

Reasons for bank account disapproval:
• A private bank account instead of a business bank account has been registered
• The ascription does not correspond to the (trade)name of your organization in the register of the Chamber of Commerce

Reasons for ID disapproval:
• The copy of the ID is not readable
• There are doubts about the authenticity of the document
• Only the front or back of the ID is supplied instead of both sides
•
According to the Chamber of Commerce the person on the ID card is not a legal representative of the company

Important for freelancers

Freelancers registering for a business account at OPP can only be verified if they link a bank account that is associated to their organization. In case you do not have a business bank account your OPP registration can be converted to a private account, for which you can use your personal bank account.

I previously had my details verified at another payment institution. Why do I have to do this again?

Online Payment Platform is obliged to carry out its own checks as payment institution and may not use previously collected data from other parties.

I already registered with another platform that uses OPP's services. Why do you need another verification?

All platforms work separately from each other and each account is a separate account, regardless of how many accounts you have as a user.

When you register with another platform for which we also facilitate payment services, we will have to perform a new check in the new account. We do this to prevent fraud and abuse on the platform.
